Alex Farah begins his first season as an offensive graduate assistant coach working with the offensive line at Texas State after serving in a similar capacity at  Appalachian State during the last two seasons. The Mountaineers joined the FBS ranks in 2014 and won the Raycom Camelia Bowl  in 2015 and in 2016 after capturing a share of the 2016 Sun Belt Conference championship.
Farah helped coach a pair of 2016 All-Sun Belt Conference First-Team offensive linemen Parker Collins and Colby Gosset, and All-SBC Second-Team  selection Beau Nunn.Â
Farah was named a graduate assisstant after serving four seasons as a student assistant coach for the Mountaineers when he worked with the Appalachian State’s inside linebackers in 2011 and 2014 and the defensive line in 2012 and 2013. The Mountaineers won the Southern Conference and played in the NCAA Division I FCS Playoffs in 2012.Â
As a graduate assistant, he is pursuing a master’s degree in public administration. He graduated from Appalachian State in 2014 with a B.S. in business administration.
A native of Matthews, N.C., Farah was a four-year letterwinner as an offensive lineman at Butler H.S. and helped lead the Bulldogs to state championships as a junior and senior (2009 and ‘10).Â
