2021 OUTDOOR
Finished fourth in the mile with a career-best time of 4:16.06 at the University of Akron Invitational… set a new season-best 5000 meters time of 14:49.81 at the Michael Johnson Invitational… placed seventh in the 1500 with a season-best time of 3:51.49 at the Sun Belt Conference Track and Field Championships.
 
2021 INDOOR
Posted a career-best 3000-meter time of 8:33.57 and finished fourth at the Sun Belt Track & Field Championships.
 
2020 CROSS COUNTRY
Earned All-Sun Belt Conference Third-Team honors after finishing in 14th place at the Sun Belt Championships...was the runner-up at the UTA Invite with a career-best time of 20:23.3 in the four-mile race...also was second at the ACU Naimadu Classic with a time of 25:29.9 in an eight-kilometers.
 
2020 INDOOR
Competed in three meets…had a ninth-place finish in the mile at the Sun Belt Indoor Championships…was a member of the winning distance medley relay at the Sun Belt meet…posted a third-place finish in the 3,000-meters at the Red Raider Invitational…had a season-best time of 8:49.38 in the 3000 meters at the Sun Belt Meet.
 
2019 CROSS COUNTRY
Competed in five races…earned Second-Team All-Conference honors after placing in eighth place at the Sun Belt Championships…ran in the NCAA South Central Regional, placing 38^th in a time of 31:25.8…had a third-place finish at the UIW Opener.
 
PREVIOUS SCHOOL
Transfer from Tarleton State ... competed in eight events in 2019 and seven meets in 2018 ... posted a third-place finish in the mile and a member of the winning distance medley relay team at the 2019 Lone Star Conference Indoor Championships...had a seven-place finish in the 1500 meters at the Lone Star Outdoor Championships...competed in seven meets for the Texans in 2018 … competed in the 1500-meter run (3:56.18) and the 5000-meter run (16:54.78) at the Lone Star Conference Outdoor Championships.
 
HIGH SCHOOL
Lettered in cross country and track four years, in which he also served as team captain at Hendrickson High School… helped lead cross country team to back to back district championships in 2015 and 2016… qualified for state in cross country as a team in 2016… received academic all-district… placed 13th at the 2015 State 6A Cross Country Championships.

Born April 8...son of Richard Botello and Melinda Patino… has a brother, Aaron…likes to fish and he once caught a 500 lb. fish...major is health science.
