The Texas State Department of Athletics is seeking creative and highly-motivated individuals to serve as student assistants as members of the Bobcat Athletics team. The department hires between 50-100 student annually. Student positions are available in the following areas.

Communications Department
The Texas State Athletics Communications Department is seeking creative and highly-motivated individuals to serve as student assistants and multimedia journalists as members of the Bobcat Communications staff. The department hires between 5-6 student assistants and/or multimedia journalists each year.

The Department
The Communications Department promotes and publicizes Texas State's 16 intercollegiate athletics programs through creative storytelling in the external media as well as on the athletic department's social media accounts and athletics website (
www.txstatebobcats.com). The goal is to raise awareness of the people and programs that make Texas State and increase attendance and exposure of the athletic contests. The office also assists with social media strategy, generates short- or longform storytelling, manages in-game statistical software, coordinates media interviews, and maintains the historical archive of Texas State Athletics.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
·        Generating content on
www.txstatebobcats.com, the official site for Texas State Athletics. Content can be in the form of writing, videos, and/or graphics.
·        Write articles for the athletic department's official website.
·        Create graphics for use on Texas State Athletics social media accounts.
·        Serve as the official photographer at various athletic events.
·        Serve as the videographer at interviews.
·        Serve as a primary contact for Texas State teams.

Minimum Requirements
Must be a current Texas State student pursuing a bachelor's degree in journalism, public relations, digital media, sports administration, or related field. Candidates must be team-oriented and able to work 10-14 hours per week. Must be available to work on weekends and evenings at athletics events.

Marketing & Fan Engagement Department
The Texas State Athletics Marketing & Fan Engagement Department is seeking outgoing and highly-motivated individuals to serve as game day crew members. The department hires between 10-12 students each year.

The Department
The Marketing & Fan Engagement Department coordinates and executes fan engagement activations for Texas State Athletics games and special events. The goal is to raise awareness of the people and programs that make Texas State and increase attendance and exposure for the department. The office coordinates and executes in-game entertainment, fan promotions, manages in-game audio/visual assets such as music and video displays, and coordinates the department's advertising, marketing and digital media strategies including assisting with social media.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Working fan relations booths and providing excellent customer service to fans and students
- Finding contestants for and executing in-arena/in-stadium promotions
- Helping with game day marketing and promotions efforts
- Set-up and break-down of game operations elements
- Various other duties deemed necessary for game operations
Minimum Requirements
- Skill in interacting with students and members of the community and building relationships with area businesses, the community and student body
- Ability to speak to outside groups and current and prospective sponsors
- Proficiency with MS Office and internet social networking sites
- Ability to lift at least 30 lbs
- Interest in marketing, public relations, sales, event planning and sports
- Available to work nights and weekends

Broadcast Video Productions
The Texas State Athletics Communications Department is seeking creative and highly-motivated individuals to serve as members of the Bobcat Vision video production crew. Â The department hires between 30-40 student assistants each year.
Â
The Department
The Broadcast Video Production Department develops live video content for mass consumption on the ESPN platforms. In addition, the departments provides video support for all large format video displays and covers video services for the department's special events. The goal is to high level live video content for all sports fans.
Â
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
·    Operating broadcast equipment including cameras, replay, graphics, audio, shadowing, etc.
·    Assist the pre and post production video content development
·        Assist with broadcast talent and commentating
·        Serve as the videographer at various athletic contest and special events
Â
Minimum Requirements
Must be a current Texas State student pursuing a bachelor's degree preferably in mass communications, digital media, sports administration, or related field. Candidates must be team-oriented and able to work 10-14 hours per week. Must be available to work on weekends and evenings at athletics events.
