Drug Testing Policy


Texas State University is committed to a drug and alcohol testing program designed to assist student-athletes in meeting the demands of both academic and athletic pursuits. It is the athletics department’s intent to help provide a safe and healthy environment for our student-athletes. To this end, a mandatory screening program has been implemented at Texas State University.

All student-athletes are subject to year-round drug screening for any or all substances that appear on the NCAA list of banned drugs. This list is subject to change and the student-athlete shall be held accountable for all banned drugs classes on the current list. Click here for NCAA banned drug list.
