Athlete-Agent Policy

Adherence with NCAA and State of Texas law as it relates to Athlete-Agents and advisors is of immense importance to Texas State and its athletics department. We respectfully request your cooperation when it comes to NCAA regulations, TXST policies and State of Texas laws governing athlete-agents and advisor interactions.

In order to protect our student-athletes and the University from potential NCAA violations, athletics department policy requires all athlete-agents and advisors to complete the Athlete-Agent Registration form. Further, State of Texas law requires that all athlete-agents are registered with Secretary of State.

All written correspondence from an athlete-agent/advisor to a student-athlete should be sent directly to the Compliance Office. It will be distributed to the student-athlete once the Compliance Office confirms that the athlete-agent is properly registered with Texas State, the Secretary of State and the appropriate player's association.

Athlete-agents are prohibited from initiating contact with student-athletes without providing prior notice to the Athletics Director and the Compliance Office. The Compliance Office will notify all athlete-agents registered with the Secretary of State of the period designated for on-campus student-athlete/agent interviews.
