Prospects and Parents

If you aspire to be a student-athlete at Texas State or any other NCAA institution there are several things you should be aware of regarding NCAA eligibility requirements and the recruiting process. A great resource for this important information is the NCAA’s Guide for the College-Bound Student-Athlete.

Every college-bound student-athlete who is attending an NCAA Division I institution full-time for the first time must be certified academically and as an amateur by the NCAA Eligibility Center. The NCAA recommends that prospective student-athletes register for the Eligibility Center at the beginning of their junior year in high school.

All SAT and ACT scores must be sent to the Eligibility Center directly from the testing agency. When registering for the ACT or SAT, prospects should input the code 9999 to make sure the scores are reported directly to the Eligibility Center. To have test scores reported to Texas State as well, prospects should input the code 6667 (SAT) or 4178 (ACT).
