The Texas State Strength and Conditioning Program is invested in developing its student athletes, as well as its staff, to their fullest potential. Through the use and implementation of sound training methodologies, it is our goal to design sport specific training programs for all of our athletes and teams geared to improve their individual athletic ability and team unity.

It is a priority of our staff to provide a safe and effective atmosphere that provides an up to date, sound teaching system that emphasize adherence to correct training technique and proper exercise progression. Injury prevention/rehabilitation is assessed through a needs analysis to identify both imbalances and deficiencies. A program is then developed to correct these problem areas.

The staff here is invested in developing training programs that will give our athletes the competitive edge in their arena of play. We do this by continuing to further our research, collaborating with others in the field, and staying current with all the new knowledge and ideas in the industry.

Overall, we take pride in being a technique based program that focuses on movement mechanics, body awareness, muscle memory, and progressive training.

Essential components to our program:
1. Olympic Lifts and variations
2. Sport Specific Training
3. Periodization/Progressive Overload
4. Multi-Joint Movements
5. Multi-Directional/Uni-Lateral Movements
6. Specific Energy-System Training
7. Lumbo-Pelvic Stabilization
8. Nutrition and Recovery

Vision
It is our vision to become a premier strength and conditioning program through the continued pursuit and consistent commitment to operating at a high standard.
