SAN MARCOS, Texas – Both Texas State (17-11, 9-6 Sun Belt) and ULM (4-23, 1-13 Sun Belt) shot over 55% from the field that ended 95-84 in favor of the Bobcats as they extend their winning streak to six games. It was also the team's 15th home win to tie for the most ever in a season in team history.

Texas State made a season-high 64.1% (41-for-64) attempts from the field. It is the highest in a game since also knocking down 64.1% (25-of-39) at Louisiana on Jan. 23, 2025. The Warhawks made 55.4% (31-of-56) shots with 10 made three-pointers.

A 31-21 advantage was held on the board by TXST with 13 offensive boards that led to 20 points. The Bobcats also scored 60 of their points in the paint.

DJ Hall scored a career-high 27 points as he made 11-of-17 shot attempts. He just missed a double-double with nine rebounds while also handing out a career best five assists.

Mark Drone's points came in the second half on a 7-of-17 shooting night with two made three-pointers.
Kaden Gumbs added 10 points and five assists.

Coming off the bench,
Robert Fields scored 12 points and retrieved five boards, four of which were on the offensive glass. Former ULM players
Makai Willis and
Jalen Bolden score nine and eight points, respectively.

A 9-2 run just before the midpoint of the first half saw the Bobcat take a 24-12 lead after Fields scored on a putback bucket.
Kyndall Davis would knock down a mid-range jumper to give the team their largest advantage of the half at 13 points.

The Warhawks made four of their six first half three-pointers over the final 7:30 of the period. That allowed them to cut the game to just a single possession heading into halftime.

Back-to-back three-pointers from Krystian Lewis and MJ Russell gave ULM its second lead of the game at 53-52 with 16:34 left in the game. Drone answered with a trey from the top of the arc the next time down the court.

After the teams traded buckets, Hall put back a missed shot and Drone followed with a trey from the left corner to put the Bobcats ahead by five. The Warhawks were able to cut their deficit to 62-61 after four straight points from Lavell Brodnex.

Texas State held a 70-68 lead with just over nine minutes to play. Bolden connected on a shot from beyond the arc and Hall scored seven straight points as TXST went on a 15-1 run over the next 4:57 to pull away for good.
