4GREENWOOD, Ind. – Five members of the Texas State football team were recognized as Academic All-District selections by College Sports Communicators (CSC), the organization announced Tuesday.

Student-Athletes eligible for selection excel in both the classroom and on the field, having achieved a 3.50 grade-point-average and competed in 90% of the institution's games or started 66%, among other qualifications.

The five selections for the Bobcats match a program best achieved in both 2024 and 2006.

Sparks, who was a member of the Biletnikoff and Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award Watch Lists as one of the top wide receivers in the nation, has advanced to the national ballot and is eligible to be selected as an Academic All-America honoree. First, second and third teams will be announced Tuesday, January 27.

The Bobcats finished the 2025 season as champions of the Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl after defeating Rice 41-10 on Jan. 2. TXST has now won its third straight bowl game and put together a seven-win or better season for the third consecutive year for the first time since the early 1980s. Head Coach GJ Kinne won his 23rd game as a Bobcat, making him the winningest D1 coach (min. 3 seasons) at TXST at .590.
