This past Friday marked a landmark moment in the history of college athletics with the final approval of the NCAA vs. House settlement, ushering in a new era for athletics departments to directly share revenue with student-athletes. At Texas State, we are proud to have anticipated this change, announcing publicly in March our commitment to invest at a high level in this new opportunity.
Our plan empowers coaches with enhanced resources to implement revenue sharing, whether by offering expanded scholarship opportunities or by establishing institutional Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) agreements directly with student-athletes. With this monumental shift now finalized, Texas State is positioned to lead by embracing this transformative era with purpose, building on our championship foundation while continuing to prioritize the holistic development of our athletes.
As we conclude another successful year for Texas State Athletics, we proudly celebrate the achievements of our programs during the 2024–25 season. From capturing back-to-back Sun Belt Conference Bubas Cup Championships—our third in four years—to securing league titles in volleyball, softball, and men's and women's track and field, along with another 8-win football season capped by a bowl victory, our teams continue to excel both in competition and in the classroom.
These achievements would not be possible without the steadfast support of our fans, students, alumni, and donors. Your commitment has been vital for elevating Texas State Athletics and your continued support is paramount as we navigate this exciting new landscape in college sports. This will require us to think bigger, invest smarter, and act deliberately to maintain our competitive edge and long-term sustainability.
We are proactively preparing by expanding the tools and resources available to our student-athletes and coaches, recruiting and retaining top-tier talent, fueling academic and athletic excellence, and building the infrastructure necessary to compete at the highest level. But this next chapter requires all of Bobcat Nation to be all-in.
