SAN MARCOS, Texas – Wednesday sees the Texas State men's basketball team (12-11, 5-6 Sun Belt) back on the road for the first of four consecutive games when it takes on Old Dominion (10-13, 6-5 Sun Belt). The tip for the game is scheduled for 6 p.m. CT from the Chartway Arena.

About Texas State
The Bobcats are looking to snap a three-game losing streak after dropping both games at home last week to Arkansas State and Louisiana. When playing away from San Marcos, the team is 5-8 with a 3-7 record in true road games.
Tylan Pope leads TXST offensively at 15.5 points per game while shooting a conference best 51.7% from the field. He has blocked a team best 38 shots, which is tied for the seventh most in a season in team history.
Kaden Gumbs enters netting 12.0 ppg and dishing out 4.3 assists a contest. The sophomore has knocked down 86.3% of his free throws and recorded 36 steals. Coleton Benson is contributing 10.0 ppg primarily coming off the bench while making a team-high 33 shots from beyond the arc.
About Old Dominion
The Monarchs are coming off a 68-54 loss at in-state rival James Madison on Saturday. Prior to the setback, they had won two straight against Coastal Carolina and on the road versus App State. ODU is 6-7 at home this season with a 2-5 mark against Sun Belt foes.
Robert Davis, Jr. leads the team in scoring (15.7), made three-pointers (75) and three-point percentage (34.4%) while shooting 35.5% from the field. The only player with a double-digit scoring average is Sean Gurugordon at 14.6. He paces the team in rebounding (8.3), made free throws (89), free throw percentage (77.4%) and steals (23). Jalen Jackson has handed out 96 assists and Caelum Swanton-Rodger has blocked 36 shots.
Series History
Texas State leads the all-time series 2-1. The Bobcats have won the last two contests with both coming in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament. Last year saw TXST win 92-83 in overtime in the first round behind a career high 28 points, 14 of which came at the free throw line, from Benson.
The only game to take place in the regular season was on Feb. 11, 2023 in San Marcos. ODU won 70-68 on a buzzer beating layup by Imo Essien after the Bobcats came back to tie the game after trailing by eight with 1:34 left on the clock.
