NEW ORLEANS -- The Sun Belt Conference today announced the eight-game conference slate for each of its competing 14 institutions, completing the full 2025 schedule for Texas State football.
 
The 25th season of Sun Belt football features 56 league games, with programs playing eight conference games—six against divisional opponents and two against cross-divisional foes from the opposite division.
 
As part of the league's West Division, Texas State will play host to Troy, ULM and South Alabama, while traveling to 2024 Sun Belt title game participant Louisiana, Arkansas State, and Southern Miss. The Bobcats' East Division opponents include a road contest at reigning SBC Champion Marshall and a Tuesday night contest against James Madison at UFCU Stadium.
 
The Bobcats will have a pair of open weeks Sept. 27 and Oct. 25.
 
TXST previously announced its four non-conference games, opening with Eastern Michigan at home on Aug. 30 and hosting Nicholls on Sept. 20. The Bobcats travel to rival UTSA for the I-35 Showdown Sept. 6 and play the second half of a home-and-home with Big 12 Champion and College Football Playoff participant Arizona State Sept. 13.
 
Kickoff times and networks for all midweek games and weekend games in the first three weeks of the season will be selected in late May. All other games will fall into the traditional 12-day selection process. 
 
The Bobcats won their second consecutive bowl game and finished the 2024 slate tied for second in the west division at 8-5 overall and 5-3 in conference play, winning the most Sun Belt league games for the program since 2014. TXST also won three road games, the most overall since four in 2014, all coming in the Sun Belt to match its highest total. The eight overall wins gave the Bobcats back-to-back seasons of reaching the mark, having not done so since the 1982-83 seasons, while GJ Kinne became the first head coach to record consecutive eight-win seasons since Jim Wacker in 1981-82.
