Five Bobcats in Double Digits in Win vs Prairie View A&M

SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State women's basketball got back into the win column in statement fashion after a 93-52 win over Prairie View A&M on Sunday afternoon. 
 
All 13 Bobcats saw action tonight while five tallied double digits in the Bobcats win. Saniya Burks led with another 20+ digit night, scoring 28 to lead the team.

HOW IT HAPPENED: 
Texas State started the game out on a 6-0 run that forced Prairie View A&M to take an early timeout. From there, the Bobcats put up 26 in the first quarter to put themselves out to a lead quickly. Kyra Anderson led the way on 6-7 shooting for 15 points in the first quarter.
 
The second quarter was all Burks, though. She tallied 19 points on 6-8 shooting, going 5-7 from the three point line. She helped Texas State extend its leas to 53-26 at the halftime break. Texas State shot an impressive 10-19 in the second quarter to extend their lead. That, paired with the Bobcats outrebounded Prairie View A&M 12 to six helped the Bobcats put an exclamation mark on the first half.
 
Kyla McBride came alive in the third quarter, tallying eight points on perfect 3-3 shooting. She helped the Bobcats to a 24 point third quarter. The Bobcats heled PVAM to just three rebounds in the third quarter, keeping their offensive opportunities at bay in the process. PVAM scored 15 points, with eight from the free throw line. Texas State led 77-41 after three.
 
The Bobcats continued to pile it on in the fourth quarter, scoring 16 points to put the game away. Amyria Walker came off the bench to score 10 points to lead the fourth quarter.
 
Texas State improves to 2-5 on the season after today's game against the Panthers.
