SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Texas State men's basketball team will be spending the Thanksgiving holiday weekend in Las Vegas competing in the Resorts World Classic. Friday's opening game is scheduled for 1 p.m. CT from the Resorts World Events Center against Seattle while Saturday's contest will be against either Lehigh or UC Santa Barbara.

Texas State enters the weekend on a five-game winning streak after completing a perfect five-game homestand on Monday against Texas Lutheran.
Jalen Bolden led the team with 24 points, one shy of matching his career-high, against the Bulldogs while
DJ Hall added 19 points to record his sixth straight double-digit point contest.

Hall paces the team at 12.0 points and 6.4 rebounds per game while he is second with 20 assists and 12 steals. Also entering the game with a double-digit scoring average is
Mark Drone at 10.6 per contest. Both
Dimp Pernell (9.4) and
Franck Emmou (9.1) are contributing just over nine points a game and have knocked down 11 and 10 three-pointers, respectively.

Kaden Gumbs enters dishing out 4.4 assists per game. He has also recorded a team best 16 steals, which are tied for the second most in the Sun Belt Conference.

The Redhawks enter the tournament on a three-game winning streak. Their most recent contest was last Friday, which was a 77-69 victory at Stanford. Other victories this season for Seattle have been against Denver, Eastern Washington and Idaho State.

Brayden Maldonado comes into the tournament leading the squad in scoring (20.2), field goal percentage (57.9), three-point shooting percentage (56.0), made three-pointers (14) and is a perfect 21-for-21 at the free throw line. Will Heimbrodt is averaging 16.3 ppg and paces the team with 5.0 rpg and 16 blocks. Also with a double-digit scoring mark at 12.4 ppg is Jun Seok Yeo.

Series History vs. Redhawks
Texas State has won all three of the previous meetings against Seattle. The most recent was a 63-53 contest in Seattle on Nov. 14, 2014.

Both teams were members of the Western Athletic Conference for the 2012-13 season. That year saw the Bobcats win both meetings by a combined five points.

The Mountain Hawks head to Las Vegas with a 2-5 record and have lost two straight including a 78-55 contest at Marist on Tuesday. Their two victories have come at home against St. Francis and University of Valley Forge.

Nasir Whitlock is the top offensive threat at 15.6 ppg but has made only 40.0% of his shots. He has knocked down 25-of-34 (73.5%) free throw attempts. Andrew Urosevic is the only other double-digit scorer at 13.0 ppg. Of his 25 made shots, 15 have come from beyond the arc.
