SAN MARCOS, Texas – Friday sees the Texas State men's basketball team (4-2) host Little Rock (2-3) in Strahan Arena with tip set for 7 p.m. It is the first time the teams have met in San Marcos since Little Rock left the Sun Belt Conference after the 2021-22 season.

About Texas State
Entering Friday, the Bobcats have won five consecutive home games dating back to last season. Most recently was a 63-49 win over Abilene Christian on Tuesday that saw
DJ Hall record his second double-double of the season with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
Hall paces the team at 10.8 points and 6.5 rebounds per game while he is second with 16 assists and seven steals. Also entering the game with a double-digit scoring average is
Mark Drone (10.2),
Dimp Pernell (10.3) and
Makai Willis (10.0). Pernell has been a spark off the bench having made 52.5% of his shots and going 11-for-22 (50.0%) on three-pointers.
Franck Emmou is contributing 9.3 ppg behind eight made treys.
Kaden Gumbs enters with a team leading 27 assists and 13 steals, which are tied for the most in the Sun Belt.
About Little Rock
The Trojans will be playing their fifth game of an eight-game road trip. They are 1-3 so far on the road swing with a victory over Ball State this past Saturday while dropping contests to Marquette, Milwaukee and Murray State. Little Rock will also play at Central Arkansas (Dec. 3) and Southern Illinois (Nov. 29) before hosting Arkansas State on Dec. 6.
Johnathan Lawson is scoring a team-high 13.2 ppg and Cameron Wallace is right behind him at 12.0 ppg. Both are retrieving 4.8 rpg. Also with a double-digit scoring mark is Braxton Bayless at 10.2 ppg having made 8-of-10 shots from beyond the arc. Former TXST player Tuongthach Gatkek enters averaging 9.2 ppg and 5.0 rpg while leading the team with eight steals and seven blocks.
Series History
Texas State leads the all-time series 13-10. The teams last met in Little Rock on Nov. 6, 2023, with the Trojans winning 71-66. That loss snapped a seven-game winning streak in the series for the Bobcats.
When playing in San Marcos, TXST is 8-3 all-time. Last time the teams played in Strahan was a 68-50 victory for the Bobcats on Feb. 19, 2022. Texas State hasn't dropped a game at home to Little Rock since a 77-74 contest that took place on Jan. 21, 2016.
