SAN MARCOS, Texas – Saturday will see Texas State take on the Sun Belt Conference leaders Arkansas State at 4 p.m. in Strahan Arena. It will be a Southwest Texas Throwback game and part of Alumni Weekend for the Bobcats that will see them debut SWT uniforms.

About Texas State
TXST will be looking to get back into the win column after dropping its seconds straight game on Thursday to Louisiana. Kaden Gumbs led all players with 17 points while Coleton Benson and Joshua O'Garro each netted 10 points in the contest.
Tylan Pope comes in leading the team at 15.5 points per game while shooting 52.5% from the field. He has blocked 38 shots this season, which is tied for the seventh most ever in a season by a Bobcat. Gumbs increased his scoring mark to 12.0 ppg and is leading the squad in assists (91) and steals (33).
Benson has made a team-high 32 three-pointers and is shooting 41.0% from deep. He is one of seven Texas State players to have made at least 10 three-pointers this season while putting up 10.5 ppg primarily coming off the bench.
Joshua O'Garro is leading the way with 7.2 rebounds per game. Also retrieving at least six boards a contest is Tyrel Morgan (6.8) and Pope (6.3).
About Arkansas State
The Red Wolves come in having won six consecutive games and hold a one-game lead over Troy in the conference standings. They are 6-5 when playing away from Jonesboro, 5-3 in true road games and 3-2 versus Sun Belt opponents. ASU has beaten Old Dominion, Southern Miss and Troy while dropping games at James Madison and South Alabama.
Taryn Todd is one of three players averaging double-digits in points with a team best 16.3 ppg behind 40 made three-pointers. Kobe Julien, the league's preseason player of the year, is netting 12.6 ppg while adding 5.4 rpg, 24 steals and 14 blocks. Joseph Pinion is the team's top threat from beyond the arc with 54 made treys and is shooting 38.8% from deep while scoring 11.6 ppg.
Both Rashaud Marshall (6.6) and Izaiyah Nelson (6.2) are grabbing over six boards a game. Terrance Ford, Jr., has handed out 91 assists and both he and Pinion have recorded a team best 25 steals.
Series History
Texas State leads the all-time series 13-7 but Arkansas State has won the last three meetings. In the first matchup of the season last Saturday, the Red Wolves pulled away in the second half for an 80-65 victory.
When hosting ASU, the Bobcats are 7-2 all-time. The last home win for them was a 66-62 contest on Feb. 9, 2023. Five TXST players scored in double-figures with the most being 12 from Morgan.
