About Texas State
Coming off a 20-10 season that saw the team earn its first at-large bid to the NCAA tournament in program history, Texas State returns the majority of its lineup from the 2023 season. Highlighted by reigning Defensive Player of the Year Jade Defraeye and all-conference selections Ryann Torres, Alyssa Ortega and Sam Wunsch, the Bobcats return all but one member of its starters.

The Bobcats will open the 2024 season with 13 consecutive road matches which started with the Rice Invitational where the Bobcats went 2-1. This road-heavy schedule is partially due to the Bobcats initially anticipating hosting one of the 2024 Presidential Debates. The Bobcats will have just eight regular season home games, beginning in October. The Bobcats will continue this road slate with a tournament in Hawaii after this weeks matches, followed by a tournament at UTEP.

The Bobcats are led by 5th year head coach Sean Huiet who comes into the week with a 97-38 record at the helm of the Bobcats after serving as the assistant coach of the program since 2006.

About UTSA
UTSA started the 2024 season with a 1-2 record, counting a win over Marist College and losses against William & Mary and Old Dominion. In 2023 the Roadrunners were 15-15 and went 8-11 in conference play.

UTSA is led by 3rd year head coach Carol Price-Torok who sits with a 24-35 record in her time with the Roadrunners.

Texas State beat UTSA 3-2 in an exhibition last season, but the two teams have not faced off in the regular season since 2021. Texas State is 60-14 all-time against the Roadrunners, having won their most recent meeting 3-1 on Feb. 10, 2021.
