SAN MARCOS, Texas – New Texas State quarterback
Jordan McCloud was chosen to the Walter Camp Player of the Year Preseason Watch List on Monday. He is the only player from the Sun Belt Conference on the list.
McCloud was the 2023 Sun Belt Player of the Year after throwing for 3,657 yards and 35 touchdowns while completing 281-of-412 passes and playing for James Madison. He also added a team leading eight touchdowns for the Dukes on 96 carries and totaled 276 yards.
For his career, McCloud has thrown for nearly 7,000 yards on 573-of-903 passing with 58 touchdowns. The Tampa, Florida native has scored 13 touchdowns on the ground with 708 career rushing yards.
The Walter Camp Foundation is a member of the National College Football Awards Association. Found in 1997, the NCFAA induces college football's most prestigious awards and its 24 awards have honored more than 900 recipients dating back to 1935.
