SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State head football coach GJ Kinne and members of the Bobcat football program will hold special events for fans across the state of Texas with the 2024 Take Back Texas Tour in Houston, Dallas, Austin, McAllen and San Antonio, Texas State Athletics announced.
 
The events, co-hosted by the Texas State Alumni Association and Bobcat Club, will feature a meet-and-greet with Kinne, Director of Athletics Don Coryell, and other members of the Texas State football program. Those in attendance can also win special Texas State football prizes, gain insight into the upcoming season, purchase season tickets, and more.

Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets prior to the event. Tickets are $25 per person and VIP Table Sponsorship packages, which also include six tickets, start at $500.
 
Kinne, who will enter his second season leading the Bobcats, returns a team with 17 starters from a year ago and a newcomer class that ranks as the best in the Sun Belt Conference, according to 247Sports. Last year's Bobcats won the SERVPRO First Responder Bowl against Rice and set an FBS program-record for wins in a single-season.
 
The 2023 season also featured some of the largest crowds in Bobcat Stadium history, which helped the program set a record for highest total attendance in a season.
 
The 2024 home schedule features seven highly-anticipated games, including matchups against I-35 rival UTSA, Arizona State of the Big 12, in-state foe Lamar, and Sun Belt Conference opponents Arkansas State, Georgia State, Louisiana and Southern Miss. The home opener is on Aug. 31 against Lamar.
