About Texas State
For the second straight year, the Bobcats have won two games to reach the quarterfinals of the conference tournament. A win on Saturday would see them become the first team in Sun Belt history to make the semifinals as a double-digit seed in back-to-back seasons. TXST advanced to Saturday's game with a dominating 75-59 win over Southern Miss led by Dontae Horne's career-high 20 points and Jordan Mason added 18 points.

Since Davion Sykes entered the starting lineup at the beginning of February, he has been a force to deal with for opposing teams. The sophomore is averaging 13.2 points and 8.6 rebounds per game while going 59-for-118 (50.0%) from the floor in that time. He has six double-doubles in that time with TXST winning each of those contests he has done so.

Overall, Mason leads the team at 12.8 ppg and is making a team best 78.1% of his free throws. The sophomore is also first on the squad with 36 steals and second with 77 assists. Brandon Love enters Thursday netting 10.4 ppg and grabbing 5.5 rpg. He has blocked 48 shots, which is tied for the third most in a season by a Bobcat and ranks fourth in the Sun Belt.

Both Coleton Benson (8.4 ppg) and Dylan Dawson (8.3 ppg) are threats from beyond the arc. Benson has knocked down 38 three-pointers at a team-high 38.8% mark. Dawson is shooting 34.2% from deep with a team best 50 made triples.

About Troy
The Trojans ended the regular season with a loss in San Marcos to the Bobcats in overtime. That loss snapped a two-game winning streak for them. When playing away from home, Troy is 5-9 and has yet to play a neutral site contest.

Four players are averaging double-figures led by Christyon Eugne at 15.2 ppg. He also leads the team with 155 made shots, 64 made three-pointers, an 85.2 free throw percentage and 99 assists. Myles Rigsby, the league's Freshman of the Year, is netting 11.6 ppg with a team best 130 made free throws and is second with 48 steals. Also putting up 11.6 ppg is Tayton Conerway, who has recorded a team-high 64 steals.

Aamer Muhammad comes in averaging 11.2 ppg with 47 made three-pointers. Thomas Dowd leads the squad with 5.5 rpg while Jackson Fields (4.4), Eugene (4.5) and Rigsby (4.3) are retrieving over four boards a contest.

All-Time Series vs. Trojans
Texas State holds a 10-8 lead in the all-time series. The teams have split the regular season meetings with the home team winning each time. Troy won 78-65 on Jan. 24 and the Bobcats closed out the regular season with an 82-79 overtime victory.

Just once before have the teams met in the Sun Belt Tournament. That came in the 2017 championship game with the Trojans coming away with a 59-53 win and automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament.
