SAN MARCOS, Texas – In a hard fought effort from the first pitch to the last, Texas State softball was able to come from behind twice for a 4-3 walk-off win over #14 Texas A&M.

After going down 1-0 early, the Bobcats came back to tie it up in the 4
th. From there, though, Texas A&M put up two runs in the 6
th to make the Bobcats find an answer.

Ultimately, a sac-fly in the 6
th made it a one run game, and the Bobcats put up two in the 7
th to walk it off. After heads up baserunning and capitalizing on some Aggie errors, the Bobcats were able to seal the 4-3 win.
The Bobcats return to play Friday, March 22 against App State in the first game of a three-game series. Game one will start at 6 pm inside Bobcat Softball Stadium. All three games of the series will be on ESPN+.

What Head Coach Ricci Woodard said: "I think the way it was done and the fashion it was done, that we never led in the game. We had to come back and we had to fight for every run and every pitch we got. I'm just proud of this group of young ladies all the way around."

What Pitcher Jessica Mullins said: "It feels great. Not only do I feel like we did great, but our whole team is really proud of each other and that's what it looks like to have each other's backs. We fought from first pitch to last pitch and that's all you can ask for."

What Catcher Megan Kelnar said: "It was such an amazing feeling. Our team, we came together and we fought until the end in every pitch, every at-bat, we fought really hard for, and we earned it."
How it Happened
Jessica Mullins started in the circle for the Bobcats, giving up a single in the top of the inning. With a runner on base, Mullins got her first of seven strikeouts to end the inning scoreless.

Texas State was unable to put up any runs in the first, though. The Aggies were able to bat in a run in the 2
ndoff a single, walk and another single. From there, the Bobcats had work to do to come back and tie it.

Texas State was able to find a run in the bottom of the 4
th when Smith got on base from a throwing error and advanced to second, scoring Bass.

In the 6
th inning, though, Texas A&M put up two runs on Mullins off an RBI single. After getting on base from a walk and a single, the Aggies took the two-run lead.

The Bobcats had an answer for one of the runs in the bottom of the 6
th off a Kat Zarate sac-fly. She'd score Vanderford to make it a one-run ball game.

In the top of the 7
th, Mullins retired three straight batters with a fly out, strike out and a groundout. She kept the Bobcats in the game headed to the bottom of the 7
th.

Needing a run, the Bobcats were back to bat. When
Megan Kelnar singled through the right side as the first batter up, the momentum in the stadium shifted. Earls would ground out for one out, but when Trahan was walked, the Bobcats had the tying run in scoring position.

The next batter up was Randolph, who was walked in four pitches to load the bases.

To score the tying run, Vanderford was also walked. She'd score Kelnar to make it 3-3.

On a defensive error from the Aggies, Texas State was able to walk off the win. When
Karmyn Bass reached base on an error by the first basement, Randolph score. Though Trahan was thrown out at home in the process, the Bobcats heads-up base running saw Randolph cross home plate for the win.

Texas State improves to 23-7 on the season with the 4-3 walk-off win over Texas A&M.
