SAN MARCOS, Texas – Featuring seven home games and three midweek games, one of which is at home, Texas State football's complete 2024 schedule was announced on Friday by the Sun Belt Conference.
The Bobcats are set to play seven home games – their most in a regular season since 2005 – at Bobcat Stadium, including three nonconference games against the likes of Lamar, UTSA and Arizona State to start the year. After playing Lamar in the season opener on Aug. 31 and then its I-35 rival UTSA on Saturday, Sept. 7, Texas State will host the Big 12's Arizona State on Saturday, Sept. 14.
Following a bye weekend in week four and another rivalry matchup against Sam Houston at NRG Stadium in Houston on Saturday, Sept. 28, the Bobcats open Sun Belt play at Troy on Thursday, Oct. 3.
The Bobcats then host Arkansas State on Saturday, Oct. 12 for their first conference home game of the season.
Texas State travels to play at Old Dominion for the first time in program history on Saturday, Oct. 19 before hosting Louisiana for a Tuesday night matchup on Oct. 29.
The month of November starts with a road game at ULM on Saturday, Nov. 9 and then back-to-back conference home games against Southern Miss (Saturday, Nov. 16) and Georgia State (Saturday, Nov. 23).
The Bobcats wrap up the regular season on the road when they take on South Alabama on the Friday after Thanksgiving on Nov. 29.
Texas State's conference games at Troy and against Louisiana at home will be broadcast on ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPNU. Official networks and game times for these midweek games, as well as for weeks 1-3, will be announced in late May.
Kickoff times for all games after week three will be announced at a later date.
The Bobcats play on the road in back-to-back weeks once all season: vs. Sam Houston in Houston on Sept. 28 and then at Troy on Oct. 3. They also will not play on five different Saturdays due to the bye weekend and midweek/Friday games on the schedule.
