SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State football's
Evan King was named the Collegiate Sports Video Association's 2023-24 Sun Belt Conference Video Coordinator of the Year, the organization announced on Friday.

King, who is entering his third year with the Bobcats, was selected by his peers in the Sun Belt as the recipient of the Conference Video Coordinator of the Year honor. He is now a finalist for the prestigious Bob Matey National Video Coordinator of the Year award, which will be announced at the annual CSVA banquet on May 22 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

The Bob Matey award is presented to the Video Coordinator who displays innovation, determination, perseverance and technical skill as portrayed by the late Bob Matey, legendary video coordinator from Texas A&M.

King oversees Texas State football's video department. He and his staff are responsible for providing practice, game, opponent and NFL video for coaches and players via Catapult Thunder software. In addition, he manages the team's 36 computer network, multiple in-house and cloud-based servers, as well as other software and hardware the coaching staff uses to prepare for competition. His staff also leads the video content creation for the team's social media platforms.

Prior to joining Texas State, King was a student video assistant at Ole Miss for five seasons from 2017-2021.

King graduated from the University of Mississippi in 2022, earning his bachelor's degree in Integrated Marketing and Communications. He has been a member of CSVA since 2022.
