TXST Back in Strahan Wednesday Night

SAN MARCOS, Texas – For the first time in nearly a month, the Texas State men's basketball team will be back at home in Strahan Arena. The Bobcats (5-3) will host Arlington Baptist (1-7) on Wednesday that will tipoff at 7 p.m.

About Texas State
Heading into the contest, TXST is on a three-game winning streak after a 13-point victory at Texas Southern on Sunday. Other wins during the streak were in the Myrtle Beach Invitational versus Ohio and Princeton. Overall, the Bobcats have their last eight home games dating back to Feb. 1.
 
Kaden Gumbs leads the team in scoring (16.0), assists (32) and steals (15). The sophomore is second on the team and in the Sun Belt Conference with an 87.1% mark at the free throw line. Both Tyrel Morgan (12.7 ppg, 6.5 rpg) and Tylan Pope (12.8 ppg, 6.1 rpg) are putting up over 12 points and six rebounds a contest.
 
Netting 10.8 ppg is Joshua O'Garro, who leads the team in rebounding at 6.9 boards per game. He also paces the conference with in free throw percentage at 89.7% having gone 26-for-29 at the charity stripe. Following his 3-for-3 performance from beyond the arc on Sunday, Drue Drinnon is now 15-for-29 (51.7%) on three-pointers this season.
 
About Arlington Baptist
The Patriots are a NCCAA Division II program that has lost six consecutive games. The lone win this season came at Centenary College on Nov. 8 by a score of 78-75. Texas State is the first of two NCAA Division I programs ABU will face this season with the other being Baylor on Dec. 27.
 
Ahmad Webster comes in scoring 14.7 ppg with a team-high 11 made three-pointers. Gary Gray is the only other double-digit scorer at 10.4 ppg and paces the squad with 6.8 rpg. Isaiah Melvo is first on the team with 19 steals and is second with 19 assists behind Webster's 20.
 
Series History
Wednesday will be the first-ever meeting between the teams.
