SAN MARCOS, Texas – A season-long four-game homestand begins for the Texas State men's basketball team (7-14, 1-8 Sun Belt) on Thursday when it hosts South Alabama (10-11, 3-6 Sun Belt) in Strahan Arena. Tipoff for the game is scheduled for 7 p.m.

It will be a White Out game in Strahan tomorrow night. The first 500 fans through the doors will receive a White Shirsey and halftime will feature the Alamo Racing Canines.

About Texas State
The Bobcats will be looking to end a four-game losing streak after dropping road contests at Louisiana and Troy last week.
Dylan Dawson was the lone bright spot offensively as he reached double-figures in both games and combined to knock down six three-pointers.

Jordan Mason continues to lead the team at 12.7 points per game while making a team best 76.8% of his free throws. The sophomore is second on the team with 48 assists and 17 steals.
Brandon Love comes in averaging 11.2 ppg and a team-high 5.7 rebounds a contest. He has blocked 39 shots, which ranks third in the Sun Belt Conference and is the sixth most over by a TXST player in a season.

Also with a double-digit scoring mark this season is
Kaden Gumbs at 10.0 ppg. The freshman is tied for fifth in the league with 3.7 assists per game and has recorded a 1.5 assist-to-turnover ratio.

Dawson comes in having made a team leading 36 three-point attempts and is shooting 32.7% from beyond the arc.
Coleton Benson has made 18 treys at a 42.9% clip.

About South Alabama
The Jaguars start the back half of a four-game road swing on Thursday and enter having lost their last three contests. They are 4-6 on the road this season with a 2-3 mark against Sun Belt opponents.

Leading USA offensively is Isiah Gaiter at 15.7 ppg. He is shooting 46.2% (123-for-266) from the field, 36.8% (25-of-68) on three-pointers and 84.3% (59-for-70) at the charity stripe. The senior has also dished out 45 assists and recorded 25 steals.

Tyrell Jones comes in averaging 12.5 ppg and has made a team-high 31 three-pointers. He also paces the squad 79 made free throws, 105 charity stripe attempts and 30 steals.

ULM transfer Thomas Howell leads the Jaguars with 6.6 rpg and is second with 11 blocks behind Marshall Kearing's 13.

All-Time Series vs. Jaguars
Texas State leads the all-time series 10-5. South Alabama won the last meeting 76-67 in San Marcos on Feb. 22, 2023. The Bobcats have never lost back-to-back games to the Jaguars.

When playing USA at home, TXST is 6-1 all-time. Thursday's game will be just the third in San Marcos since 2018 with the last home win being on Jan. 4, 2018 by a score of 72-69.
