WACO, TX – The Bobcats suffered a 3-0 loss to Baylor in a shortened game due to a thunderstorm and a tornado warning. The game played five complete innings before being forced to cancel due to the impending weather, qualifying it to be considered a complete game.

The game would start off with business as usual with
Jessica Mullins in the circle for the Bobcats. She'd get two strikeouts in the opening inning. Despite that, though, Shaylon Govan would hit a home run off Mullins to give the Bears a 1-0 lead after the first.

The Bobcats would get on base when
Anna Jones was walked, but after the Bears turned a double play off
Karmyn Bass' bunt, the Bobcats would end two innings hitless.

The Bears added on a second run when Govan would double down the right field line to help Wilson advance home.

From there, the Bobcats got some players on base when
Piper Randolph singled up the middle and
Emilee Baker was walked.
Sara Vanderford would reach on a fielder's choice on the next play when the Bears got Randolph out at third. Baylor would get Baker out at third on the next play and when
Karmyn Bass grounded out, that'd be the end of the inning.

The Bears were able to add another in the third when Watson would get on base from a single and advance on a wild pitch. When
Hannah Earls made a throwing error, Watson would advance to score.

The Bobcats went three up and down before
Presley Glende would come in to pitch in the bottom of the fifth. The Bears were able to get two hits off Glende but added no more runs to the total before the game would be called.

The Bobcats did have one batter start her at bat in the top of the 6
th,
Claire Ginder, but her at-bat was cut short with the weather delay.

The Bobcats will now head northeast to face Marshall in a three-game weekend series starting April 28
th. All three games will be available to stream on ESPN+.
