SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Texas State men's basketball team (11-12, 4-6 Sun Belt) continues its three-game road swing on Thursday when it plays at co-Sun Belt Conference leader Louisiana (18-4, 8-2 Sun Belt). Tip is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. inside the Cajundome.
The game will be streamed on ESPN+ and fans can also tune into KTSW 89.9 FM and the Varsity Sports Network app to listen to Clint Shields on the call.

The Bobcats are coming off a nine-point setback at Southern Miss this past Saturday. Three Bobcats reached double-figures with a team-high 12 points being netted by
Nighael Ceaser and
Jordan Mason. Seven times in league play the Bobcats have held an opponent to less than 62 points.
Mason Harrell paces the team offensively at 16.2 ppg with 29 made three-pointers and 21 steals. He is eighth in program history in scoring at 1,373 points and needs 13 more to surpass Kavin Gilder-Tilbury for seventh place.
Behind Harrell, three players are putting up at least seven points a contest in
Nate Martin (7.6),
Tyrel Morgan (8.6) and Ceaser (8.8), who leads the team with 6.9 rpg. Morgan is second in boards at 6.3 per contest after grabbing a team-high 13 against the Golden Eagles.
Drue Drinnon leads TXST in with 54 assists and 21 steals. Mason has started the last nine games and in that span is contributing 9.4 ppg on 43.3% shooting, 3.8 rpg, 1.7 apg and 1.3 spg. He has also netted at least 10 points in four straight games.
About Louisiana
The Ragin' Cajuns have yet to lose in 2023 having won all eight of their games. Last weekend saw them defeat Georgia Southern at Troy at home. When hosting teams, Louisiana is 9-0 with the closest an opponent has gotten being seven by the Eagles this past Saturday.
Jordan Brown leads the squad in scoring (19.8), made field goals (156), made free throws (99) and blocks. He is second with 7.7 rpg and 56.1 field goal percentage behind Terence Lewis II (12.0 ppg) at 62.1 FG% and 8.3 rpg. Also with a double-digit scoring average is Greg Williams, jr. at 14.1 ppg behind a team best 48 made three-pointers.
Themus Fulks (8.8 ppg) is dishing out 6.4 apg. Of Kentrell Garnett's 56 made shots, 44 of them have come from beyond the arc and he is shooting at a 46.3% clip from deep.
All-Time Series
Louisiana leads the all-time series 17-7 after taking the first meeting 60-51 in San Marcos. The Cajuns won 12 of the first 13 meetings with the lone win for Texas State coming at home by a score of 61-57 on Feb. 20, 2016. Since 2019, the Bobcats hold a 6-5 advantage in the series.
Last season saw TXST win both regular season meetings including an 83-73 contest in Lafayette. However, Louisiana won 79-72 in the quarterfinals of the Sun Belt Tournament to send the Bobcats to the NIT.
When playing the Cajuns on the road, Texas State is 3-7 all-time and has won the last two meetings.
Bobcats Heart February
Texas State enters February having won 20 consecutive games in the month, the longest active streak in the nation. The Bobcats are 28-3 (.903) over the last four years during the month to have the fourth best winning percentage in the country behind Gonzaga (.935), Belmont (.912) and Colgate (.906), respectively. The 28 victories are tied for the fourth most in the country with Murray State with the only teams winning more games being Belmont (31), Colgate (29) and Gonzaga (29).
