SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State (6-5) shot a season-high 66.7% (46-of-69) from the field on its way to a 110-68 win over LeTourneau (6-5) Monday night from Strahan Arena. It is the Bobcats' best shooting percentage in a contest since making 69.9% of their attempts against Bethany on Dec. 15, 2019.
Â
Brandon Love scored a career-high 21 points on 10-of-13 shooting to pace TXST. He also rejected three shots to increase his season total to 32.

Texas State finished with a 42-27 advantage on the boards and outscored the Yellowjackets 68-30 in the paint. The Bobcats held the visitors' bench scoreless while netting 43 points and netted 18 points off fast breaks while holding LeTourneau to none.
Â
Both teams got off to a hot start offensively. The Yellowjackets made five of their first seven shots to hold a 13-11 advantage with four minutes off the clock. Eight straight points, six of them courtesy of Love, from TXST put it back it in the lead for good the rest of the contest.
Â
An 18-2 run extended the Bobcats lead to 42-21 with a little under four minutes until halftime. LeTourneau got a layup from Walker Blaine with five seconds on the clock. A quick pass into Mason saw him get down the court and hit a running three-point shot just before the buzzer sounded to send TXST into the break leading by 23.
Â
Deonte Jackson drove the lane for a layup and hit a trey in the first minute of the second to get the visitors to within 55-35. The Bobcats knocked down eight of their next nine shot attempts to put any chance of a Yellowjacket comeback out of reach.
Â
Twice Texas State took a 42-point lead with the first coming on Benson's third trey of the game with 1:58 left in the contest. Horne capped off the scoring for both teams with a pull-up jumper from the free throw line just over 50 seconds later.
Â
