Road Trip Concludes Saturday at ULM

SAN MARCOS, Texas – Riding a three-game winning streak, the Texas State men's basketball team (10-8, 3-2 Sun Belt) wraps up its four-game road swing Saturday afternoon at ULM (7-11, 3-2 Sun Belt). Tip will be at 2 p.m. inside Fant-Ewing Coliseum.
 
The game will be streamed on ESPN+ and fans can also tune into KTSW 89.9 FM and the Varsity Sports Network app to listen to Clint Shields on the call.
 
About Texas State
The Bobcats have now won eight games away from San Marcos after a three-point victory Thursday at Arkansas State. It is tied for the most victories away from home (neutral and true road) in the nation with North Texas, Quinnipiac and UNCW. Thursday was also the fourth time in the last five games that TXST has held an opponent to less than 60 points.
 
Leading the way offensively is Mason Harrell at 16.8 points per game. The senior guard leads the team in made field goals (104), three-pointers (26), free throws (68) and steals (20). He is closing in on moving up a couple more spots on the program's career scoring list. Currently in ninth with 1,351 points, Harrell is 18 points shy of passing Henry Garcia for eighth and 35 from moving into seventh ahead of Kavin Gilder-Tilbury.
 
Nighael Ceaser is second on the team in scoring at 9.4 ppg and has grabbed 8.6 rebounds a contest that included a stretch of three consecutive games with 10 or more. Tyrel Morgan enters averaging 8.8 ppg and 6.0 rpg while Brandon Davis is knocking down a team best 44.9% of his shots from the field.
 
About ULM
Entering Saturday, the Warhawks have lost their last two games after winning the first three to start Sun Belt Conference play. ULM is 5-4 at home that includes a league win over Georgia State back on Jan. 5.
 
Tyreke Locure is scoring a team-high 14.3 ppg on 38.3% shooting with 34 made three-pointers. HE also paces the squad with 63 assists and 36 steals. The only other player with a double-digit scoring average is Jamari Blackmon at 11.1 ppg and he has made 32 treys at a team best 38.6% clip.
 
Grabbing a team-high 7.6 rpg is Thomas Howell. Both he and Locure are the only ULM players to start all 18 contests. Victor Bafutto is the team's rim protector with 44 blocks. The big man comes in shooting a team best 54.5% from the field while netting 8.2 ppg.
 
All-Time Series
After the first meeting this season on Dec. 29 in Strahan Arena that the Warhawks won, the all-time series is now tied 31-31. That loss snapped the Bobcats' eight-game winning streak over ULM.
 
TXST has won four straight in Monroe, Louisiana and five of the last six. The lone loss in that span came on Feb. 17, 2018 by a score of 79-71. All-time on the road against the Warhawks has seen the Bobcats sport an 11-18 record.
