Texas State Launches NIL Marketplace

The NIL Marketplace powered by Opendorse connects Bobcats and fans

SAN MARCOS, Texas – To further help Bobcat student-athletes leverage their NIL for opportunities, Texas State Athletics has launched its official school-specific NIL marketplace powered by Opendorse.

By visiting opendorse.com/texasstate-bobcats, Bobcat Nation can find any Texas State student-athlete who has opted in to the marketplace and book NIL deals such as video shoutouts, appearances, social media endorsements and more. Once a student-athlete receives a deal from fans or businesses through the marketplace, they can review and accept the terms, receive payment, and auto-generate tax documentation. All communication for the deal, from pitch to payment, happens through the Opendorse app and the student-athlete receives compensation once the deal is complete.

The Texas State NIL Marketplace is one of the many resources Bobcat student-athletes have to help capitalize on their NIL while on campus. Other resources include disclosures through a mobile app, education sessions, and personal brand-building tools such as INFLCR and now Opendorse.

"This is an exciting addition for Texas State Athletics in the NIL realm," said Director of Athletics Don Coryell. "We are always focused on improving the student-athlete experience at all levels, and helping our fans connect with all Bobcat student-athletes for NIL opportunities is another way of doing that. Opendorse is a leading NIL company, and we are proud to partner with them to empower our athletes and fans in this era of college sports. Their experience in this space and dedication to creating a Texas State NIL marketplace will benefit our current and future student-athletes."

Every Texas State student-athlete will have the opportunity to receive an Opendorse profile, which they can customize to let fans know more about their interests and NIL deals they are seeking. The student-athletes can share their Opendorse profile on their social media accounts to help promote to their fans.

"Starting today, any fan, brand, donor and sponsor can support any Bobcat student-athlete at the click of a button," said Opendorse senior director of collegiate partnerships Tim Pederson. "This partnership with Opendorse displays the commitment Texas State has in supporting student-athletes on their NIL journey."

Opendorse is one of the leading NIL solutions for student-athletes. It maximizes NIL opportunities for more than 80,000 athletes and has facilitated thousands of NIL deals and endorsements at every level of sports since it was founded in 2012.
