SAN MARCOS, TX — For the first time in years, the Texas State volleyball program has the ability to conduct a "normal" offseason, which will include three dates worth of competition, head coach
Sean Huiet announced Wednesday afternoon.
"It's been really nice to have an actual spring season, where we get to slow things down and train. It's so crazy to think there are so many student-athlete who haven't had a spring season since they have been here," Huiet said. "The strides this group is making right now, both physically and mentally, has the coaching staff really excited.
"Our spring schedule is going to be a great way for us to see where we are with transferring the training over to live play. We will get a chance to work some different lineups and try things that will only help us get experience for next fall."
Texas State will open its three-date spring schedule on Saturday, April 2, when the Bobcats will host an eight-team tournament. Team participation and game times for said tournament will be released at a later date.
The following Thursday — April 7th — Texas State will host the University of Texas beginning at 7 p.m. CT. Two days later, the Bobcats will conclude their spring schedule when they travel to San Antonio to play UTSA. Game time for the match between the Bobcats and Roadrunners will be announced at a later date.
All Texas State home spring volleyball matches are open to the public and are free admission.
