38 Bobcats Graduate in Fall 2022 Semester

28 received their "T" Rings while 10 others will graduate but return

SAN MARCOS, Texas – Thirty-eight Texas State student-athletes will graduate this weekend and participate in the commencement ceremonies at Texas State University.

The group of Bobcats earning their respective degrees include 28 who earned their "T" Rings at a ceremony in the Warren Room on Friday morning. The student-athletes also received customized graduation stoles and Sun Belt Conference medallions to wear during commencement.

The "T" Ring symbolizes excellence on the playing field as well as the classroom. To receive a ring, student-athletes must receive a "T" letter from the athletics department, complete their NCAA eligibility at Texas State, and earn a bachelor's degree during the same academic year or within one year after their NCAA eligibility expired.

Along with their rings, all graduating student-athletes received the maroon stoles to wear during their graduation commencements. The 2008 Student-Athlete Advisory Committee introduced the tradition of presenting graduation stoles to graduating student-athletes as a way to be recognized as a unique group on campus.

The Sun Belt Conference medallions serve to distinguish student-athletes at Sun Belt schools who have earned a bachelor's degree.

In addition to the 28 "T" Ring honorees, 10 other Bobcats have earned their degrees following the Fall 2022 semester. Those 10 will return to Texas State as they have athletic eligibility remaining.

Commencement information for the various colleges and programs is available at txst.edu/commencement.
