SAN MARCOS, Texas – After a week out West, the Texas State men's basketball team hits the road again but this time in-state. The Bobcats will face Lamar on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. inside the Montagne Center.
 
The game will be streamed on ESPN+ and fans can also catch the action on the Varsity Sports Network with Brant Freeman on the call.
 
About Texas State
The Bobcats went 2-1 last weekend that included its first-ever win over a Pac-12 opponent. They also defeated Southern Utah to advance to the title game of the Patty Mills North Shore Classic.
 
Mason Harrell has scored at least 20 points in four of the last five games and leads the team at 19.7 points per game. Also with a double-digit scoring average is Brandon Davis (10.3) and Tyrel Morgan (10.4), who is grabbing a team-high 6.0 rebounds per contest. In his first extend action of the season last week, Tuongthach Gatkek
put up 5.3 ppg, 5.7 rpg and 2.0 bpg.
 
About Lamar
The Cardinals have lost three straight games after falling on Sunday at SMU by 25. LU is 2-0 at home with both wins coming over non-Division I programs.
 
Leading the Cardinals in scoring is Nate Calmese at 14.1 ppg while also dishing out 21 assists. Chris Pryor and Jakevon Buckley are putting up 12.7 and 12.0 ppg, respectively. Adam Hamilton comes in netting 13.8 ppg and is grabbing a team-high 8.3 rpg while playing in just four games with one start.
 
All-Time Series
TXST leads the all-time series over Lamar 31-29. The Bobcats have won the last four meetings and seven of the previous nine. Thursday will be the first game in Beaumont since Feb. 23, 2013 that ended with a 74-61 win for Texas State. When playing the Cardinals on the road, the Bobcats are 12-17 all-time.
