SAN MARCOS, Texas – Jim Wacker Field at Bobcat Stadium will be engulfed in black as Bobcat Nation blacks out the stadium in Saturday's conference game against App State.
 
All Texas State fans are encouraged to wear their favorite black Bobcat gear to help get "Wack in Black," supporting the Bobcats who will wear new black uniforms for the 6 p.m. game. Fans can visit txst.com/ShopTXST to see a list of popular online and local retailers to get new black Texas State apparel.
 
Priority seating (sections 101-105) is already sold out and there is limited seating remaining in the lower reserved sections. To purchase tickets and get the opportunity of sitting in a preferred area, fans can visit txst.com/tickets.
 
The mission to black out the stadium is one of several pieces to the night. Other promotions include:

• First 3,000 fans will receive a free black Texas State t-shirt
• Free hot dogs to Texas State students, while supplies last
• Free barbecue sandwiches from Black's BBQ in the H-E-B Katzengarten, while supplies last

 
It is also Family Weekend at Texas State, where Bobcat families will take part in a number of events across campus including the game between the Bobcats and Mountaineers.
 
At halftime, there will be an on-field recognition of Texas State baseball and its 2022 Sun Belt Conference championship and NCAA Regional appearance. The Texas State track and field team will also be recognized after its 14 individual conference championships and eight different All-American accolades in the 2021 indoor and outdoor seasons.
 
Other in-game recognitions will include the Texas State women's golf team, ahead of it hosting the Jim West Challenge at the Kissing Tree Golf Club on Oct. 23-24, as well as the College of Health Professions Honorary Staff member and representatives from Fraternity & Sorority Life Philanthropy Week.
 
The Texas State Alumni Association will be hosting its second tailgate of the year in the west parking lot near the baseball stadium, and fans can RSVP prior to gameday. The Texas State "T" Association will host its tailgate near Lots 2 and 3.
