SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State will travel to North Texas for a 1 p.m. match on Monday, Feb. 22 at the North Texas Volleyball Center in Denton, Texas.

The Bobcats (25-2) are coming off a four-set victory at UTSA on Feb. 10 and are currently receiving 35 votes in the AVCA Division I Top 25 Poll. In addition to the fall, the Bobcats are hitting .255, and lead the Sun Belt Conference with 14.2 kills per set. The Bobcats lead the country with 1,625 total digs, 1,367 total kills, 1,280 total assists, and 213.5 total blocks. Texas State is 10-0 in matches played on the road this season and enter Monday's match on a five-match winning streak. Â
Junior setter Emily DeWalt directs the offense with 11.26 assists per set and paces the country with 1,070 total helpers. DeWalt ranks No. 5 in the program's record book with 3,536 career assists and is 720 assists away from moving to No. 4 all-time, a spot currently held by Natalie Spam (4,283). DeWalt also averages 3.29 digs per set and has a total of 77 kills (.321), 43 blocks (four solos), and 16 aces.
Junior outside hitter Janell Fitzgerald leads the Bobcats with 3.74 kills per set (349) and ranks No. 1 in the NCAA with 355 total kills and 404.5 points. Fitzgerald has 80 total blocks (0.84 per set), including 19 solo blocks.Â
Senior middle blocker Tyeranee Scott paces TXST with 84 total blocks (0.97 per set) and has 19 solo blocks on the year. Her 84 total blocks ranked No. 2 in the NCAA. Scott also leads the team with a .352 hitting percentage behind 2.59 kills per set and contributes 31 digs and two aces to her season statistics.Â
SCOUTING NORTH TEXAS
The Mean Green (3-5, 1-3 C-USA) are coming off a split against UTSA. After winning the first match in five sets, UTSA defeated UNT 3-1 on Sunday, Feb. 14. UNT will play three total matches against Sun Belt Conference members and has already swept UT Arlington this spring on Thursday, Feb. 11 in Denton. After Monday's match, UNT and TXST will play again at 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 25 at Strahan Arena.Â
The Mean Green average 12.6 kills per set (.199), 11.4 assists, and has 34 aces on the year. Defensively, UNT averages 16.5 digs per set and 1.8 blocks per set but relinquishes a .225 hitting percentage to their opponents and has been aced 58 times this spring. Â
Junior outside hitter Rhett Robinson leads the way with 3.97 kills per set (.188) and has 21 blocks and seven aces this season. Senior outside hitter Barbara Martin follows with 2.88 kills per set (.171), while junior middle blocker Sarah Haeussler comes in with 1.94 kills per set with a .376 hitting percentage. She also leads the team with 1.09 blocks per set. Senior setter Kaliegh Skopal conducts the offense with 9.03 assists per set, and sophomore defensive specialists Aleeyah Galdeira anchors the defense with 4.53 digs per set.Â
SERIES HISTORY
Texas State leads North Texas in the all-time series 27-6-2. The Bobcats are 3-2 in the last five matches played in Denton. The last meeting was in August 2016 where the Bobcats defeated the Mean Green 3-1 in Denton.
