SAN MARCOS, Texas – ArieAnn Bell hit a three-run homer, and
Tori McCann pitched a complete game to lead the Texas State softball team to a 4-1 victory over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Wednesday night at the Bobcat Softball Stadium.

The Bobcats jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning, when
Bailee Carter and
Hailey MacKay reached on a pair of walks, and Bell it a 3-2 pitch from Jenika Lombrana over the left-centerfield fence.

The Islanders scored their lone run in the top of the third inning when Tiler Noyola reached on a fielder's choice, stole second, and scored on Sydney Hoyt's double to right-center.

Texas State scored its final run in the bottom of the third when pinch-runner
Molly Damiani stole home on an attempted double steal.

McCann surrendered four hits, struck out five and surrendered the lone run in seven innings. Lombrana struck out two hitters, walked nine while giving up four runs.

The victory improves Texas State's record to 13-7 this season. The Bobcats open their Sun Belt Conference schedule this Friday in Atlanta when the Bobcats begin a three-game series at Georgia State.
