SAN MARCOS, Texas– Texas State puts its eight-game home winning streak to the test as they take on Incarnate Word at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 5 at Strahan Arena in San Marcos, Texas.
The game will be streamed on ESPN+.
The Bobcats (2-1) are coming off their first setback of the year, a 68-51 decision at Mississippi State. TXST is averaging 74.7 points per game behind a 47.1 field goal percentage. Defensively, they rank No. 2 in the Sun Belt Conference with a 63.3 scoring defense and 37.8 field goal percentage defense. TXST has led the league in scoring defense the last four seasons and in six of the last seven years.

Mason Harrell paces the team with 16.0 points per game, ranking No. 10 in the Sun Belt Conference. Harrell is shooting 50.0 percent from the floor and 60.0 percent from behind-the-arc. Harrell is tied for a team-best 2.7 assists per game with graduate guard

Caleb Asberry is the other Bobcat scoring in double figures as he chips in 10.7points per game Asberry is shooting 57.9 percent from the field and is also at a 60.0-percent clip from 3-point range.
SCOUTING INCARNATE WORD
The Cardinals (1-2) just suffered a 94-83 overtime loss at Wyoming on Wednesday, Dec. 2. UIW split their season-opening tournament 1-1 after falling to Rice 68-53, but defeated Our Lady of the Lake, 84-71 at the UIW Invitational on Nov. 27-Nov. 29. Overall, UIW averages 73.3 points per game and is shooting 49.4 percent from the floor and 44.2 percent from 3-point range behind 6.3 made triples per game.
Sophomore guard Keaston Willis leads the team with 21.7 points per game and is shooting 59.0 percent from the floor. Willis also totals a team-high six steals and has five assists in the young season. Freshman guard Josh Morgan follows his lead with 17.5 points per game in just two games played. Morgan had 18 points off the bench at Wyoming and is shooting 6-of-9 from deep this season.
ALL-TIME SERIES
This will be just the second meeting in program history between Texas State and Incarnate Word and the first in 30 years. The Bobcats defeated the Cardinals 101-83 on Nov. 26, 1990 in San Marcos.
CHALK TALK
Saturday beginning at 1:20 p.m., the men's basketball staff will be hosting Chalk Talk. Chalk Talk will be a presentation by one of the coaching staff members, followed by a meet and greet.
