CONWAY, S.C. – The Texas State men's basketball team hung on to remain undefeated all-time in the HTC Center against Coastal Carolina following a 65-61 win Thursday night. The Bobcats have won all three meetings on the Chanticleers' home court with all of the contests decided by four points or less.

With the win, TXST improved to 13-3 overall and 2-1 in the Sun Belt Conference while CCU fell to 7-8 on the season and 1-2 in conference play.

The Chanticleers jumped out to a 13-5 lead with the only points for TXST coming on a three-pointer from
Tre'Larenz Nottingham and two
Eric Terry free throws.

After CCU went up 17-11, the Bobcats held them scoreless for the next 5:22. Texas State would take the lead during the stretch when
Quentin Scott knocked down a three-pointer, the first of his career, from the left corner with 7:58 left in the first.

The Chanticleers tied the game at 21-21 on an old-fashion three-point play.
Alex Peacock answered with a trey and then nearly a minute later stole the ball and laid it in to extend the advantage to five.

Alonzo Sule got a layup to fall with a second left on the clock in the opening half to send the Bobcats into the break leading 40-31.

Twice in the second half the Bobcats took a 10-point lead with the last coming with 15:18 after a fastbreak layup from
Alonzo Sule. The Chanticleers would go on a 12-4 run over the next 7:24 to pull to within two.
Nijal Pearson knocked down a jumper to extend the lead back to multiple possessions.

Pearson made his second three-pointer of the game to put TXST ahead by nine with four and a half minutes to play. CCU would go on an 8-0 run with half of its points coming from the free throw line.

Eric Terry ended the scoreless run, hitting another hook shot with just over 11 seconds left to play. The Chanticleers then threw the ball away on their ensuing possession with 3.4 showing on the clock.

The Bobcats got the ball into Nottingham, who was immediately fouled with two seconds remaining. He made the first free throw to ice the game.

Peacock led Texas State with 13 points behind three made treys. The junior also grabbed four rebounds, handed out two assists and recorded a steal.

Also reaching double-digits was Pearson with 12 points, nine of which came in the second half, while also grabbing six rebounds. Terry added eight points, three boards and a block.
Jaylen Shead dished out a team-high 4 assists and Sule matched his career-high of 10 rebounds.

Next up for the Bobcats is a trip to Boone, North Carolina to take on Appalachian State. Tip is slated for 1 p.m. CT.
