San Marcos, Texas – On Saturday, April 21^st the Texas State Bobcat Club will host the 30th annual Bobcat Bonanza on Jim Wacker Field at Bobcat Stadium. For the second consecutive year, Texas Regional Bank will serve as Bobcat Bonanza's presenting sponsor.

Over three decades Bobcat Bonanza has grown into Texas State University's largest annual fundraising event, generating $400,000 in support of student-athlete scholarships each year. This success is the result of more than 600 loyal Bobcats supporting the event every April.

Attendees will enjoy a night of dinner, drinks, entertainment and live and silent auctions under an air-conditioned tent with views of Bobcat Stadium and the South End Zone Complex.

Texas State alumna and former Miss Texas Holly Mills-Gardner will once again serve as the event's emcee and host an interview with a current Bobcat student-athlete. Texas State alumnus Heath Hale and his legendary Cowboy Auctioneers will conduct the evening's live auction.

"This event is crucial to the success of the Bobcat Club and its mission to provide financial support for student-athlete scholarships," Associate Athletic Director Travis Comer said. "This event has grown exponentially over the last seven years; this success is the direct result of many loyal Bobcats and their generosity."

ENTERTAINMENT
One of two performers for this year's Bonanza is world renowned mentalist Banacheck.

Performers around the world such as the colorful Penn & Teller, "The Amazing" James Randi and television's unique street magician David Blaine seek his performing expertise. Companies and theaters seek him for his outstanding performing abilities. Banachek also frequents Chris Angel's Las Vegas performance and is credited for helping devise some of Angel's acts!

VIP guests at Bobcat Bonanza will have the opportunity to experience even more of Banachek's talents - in a more intimate setting - during an exclusive pre-show.

The second performer will be formally announced next week.

FOOD & DRINK
Dinner at Bobcat Bonanza will be catered by Saltgrass Steak House, featuring an assortment of entrée and side options served buffet style. Complimentary drinks will be provided by Brown Distributing and Rebecca Creek Distillery with wine provided by HEB.

The Bobcat Club is the principal fundraising arm of the Texas State Intercollegiate Athletics Department.
