SAN MARCOS, Texas – Senior forward
Immanuel King recorded his second double-double of the season with 14 points and a career-high 13 rebounds in the Texas State men's basketball team's 85-43 win over Ecclesia Tuesday night in Strahan Coliseum.

The win sees the Bobcats improve to 6-6 on the season while the Royals are 0-11.

After the teams traded opening baskets, TXST went on a 9-2 run over a 2:20 span to put the visitors in the rear view mirror.

Ecclesia was able to pull to within 11 after a three-pointer from DQ Bagsby with 4:31 remaining in the first half. The Bobcats responded with a 12-0 run to close out the period and take a 42-19 lead into halftime.

The scoring streak would continue through the first five minutes of the second half as TXST opened with a 16-1 run to go up 58-20 with 14:59 on the clock after a layup by NIjal Pearson.

A free throw from
Quentin Scott gave the Bobcats their largest lead of the game at 83-37 with 3:20 left to play.

Reaching double-figures along with King were
Alex Peacock and Pearson, both with 11. Peacock finished 5-of-9 from the field and grabbed six rebounds. Pearson made 5-of-11 shots with a made three-pointer while also grabbing seven rebounds, handing out five assists and recording two steals.

Coming off the bench,
Eric Terry netted nine points, and both
Shelby Adams and
Isaiah Gurley contributed eight points apiece.
Nedeljko Prijovic retrieved nine boards and matched his career-high with two blocks. Also rejecting two shots was Terry.

Tyler Blount was 2-for-3 from beyond the arc and handed out a career best five assists.

As a team, the Bobcats were 36-for-77 (46.8%) from the field but struggled on long distance attempts with a 4-of-18 (22.2%) performance. They also made 9-of-18 (50.0%) free throw attempts. For the 11th time this season TXST did outrebound an opponent with a 64-35 advantage on the night.

The non-conference portion of the schedule concludes on Friday at Rice with tipoff slated for 7 p.m.
