SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Texas State volleyball team closed out the Creeds & Crests Classic in Strahan Coliseum Saturday afternoon with a 3-1 loss (25-15, 23-25, 14-25, 17-25) to Tulsa. The Bobcats concluded their home tournament with a second place finish.

Texas State is now 3-4 on the season while the Golden Hurricanes improve to 5-1 overall.

Set one saw the Bobcats dominate with 15 kills while holding Tulsa to just six kills and a -.033 attack percentage.
Lauren Kirch pace the team in the set with seven kills and no attack errors.

The second set began with the Golden Hurricanes jumping out to a 10-3 advantage. A 10-4 run by Texas State cut the deficit to one and as capped off by a service ace from
Ali Hubicsak. The Bobcats stayed within a point or two of the visitors the rest of the way but Tulsa eventually took the set 25-23.

Sets three and four were controlled by the Golden Hurricanes. They recorded 32 kills over the two stanzas while holding the Bobcats to eight apiece in each set.

Kirch led Texas State with 13 kills with only one error for a .462 attack percentage.
Jaliyah Bolden added eight kills and seven blocks. Tacking on seven kills was
Jordan Kohl.

Erin Hoppe was credited with 39 of the team's 44 assists on the day. She also had 10 digs to record a double-double. Pacing the squad with 11 digs was freshman
Mattie Adams.

Hoppe finished with four blocks and Kohl added three rejections.
Shelby Vas Matt posted two blocks on the day as well.

Make the Creeds & Crests Classic All-Tournament team for the Bobcats were Adams and Kirch.

Texas State closes out its homestand in Strahan Coliseum Tuesday night at 6:30 p.m. against Sam Houston State.
