CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Senior second baseman
Kelli Baker racked up all three RBIs in the Texas State softball team's 3-0 victory over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Tuesday afternoon. Baker notched her hits in the second and fourth innings to give Texas State the scoring advantage.

The victory improved the Bobcats to 19-7 overall and the Bobcats have now held their opponents scoreless for 15 consecutive innings.

Randi Rupp earned her 13
th victory in five innings of work and
Quincy Charleston picked up her first save of the season with two innings in relief for the Bobcats. Neither pitcher allowed a walk and Rupp allowed just one Islander hit in the third.

A single up the middle by
Corrina Liscano in the first was the first registered hit of the day for Texas State. The Islanders (11-12) went on to hold the 'Cats scoreless as Liscano and
Ariel Ortiz were stranded on first and second.

In the second, however, the Bobcats made their first mark in the game. With two outs and
Kimberlin Naivar on second and
Kendall Wiley on third, Baker singled up the middle to score Wiley and Naivar. Baker made it as far as third before the Islander catcher threw
Braegan Hamilton out stealing.

A scoreless third passed before the Bobcats struck again in the fourth. With two runners on, Baker hit another single up the middle that scored Naivar. Naivar's crossing at home proved to be the final score for either team. Naivar ended the game with a team-high two runs scored.

Baker finished the day with two hits and three RBIs in four at bats for the Bobcats. Liscano, Naivar, and Norte combined for the other three hits. Baker has now successfully reached base in the last 22 consecutive contests. Liscano's total of reaching base is now up to 11 straight games.

Hamilton, Ortiz, and Wiley all drew two walks each for Texas State.

Rupp ended with 10 strikeouts, making it the fourth time this season she has eclipsed 10+ strikeouts.
