SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Texas State volleyball team will play host to Arkansas State and Little Rock this upcoming weekend to close out a four-match homestand. The Bobcats will first welcome ASU on Oct. 7 before entertaining UALR on Oct. 8. Both contests will be held at 6:30 p.m. inside Strahan Coliseum.
The three matches feature the last three Sun Belt Conference Tournament Champions. The Bobcats won the title in 2013, Little Rock claimed top honors in 2014 and the Red Wolves are the defending champions. General admission tickets can be purchased from $3-$6 at txstatebobcats.com.

THE LAST TIME OUT
The Bobcats earned a hard-fought 3-2 (18-25, 25-19, 26-28, 25-14, 15-13) victory over Appalachian State this past Sunday inside Strahan Coliseum. Junior
Jaliyah Bolden blasted a career-high 19 kills, which included five in the decisive fifth set. Senior
Shelby Vas Matt (12 kills, 12 digs) and junior
Erin Hoppe (38 assists, 11 digs) both registered double-doubles, while senior
Lauren Kirch added 12 kills and six blocks. Senior
Ali Hubicsak contributed 12 digs to the winning cause. Jenna Talbert paced the visitors with 15 kills, while Emma Longley posted a double-double with 11 digs and 10 kills. Ashlyn Brown also had a double-double (14 digs, 13 assists), Amanda Krahl distributed 20 assists and Kennedy Wilson tallied a match-high 19 digs. Texas State led in kills (58-46), blocks (13-11) and hitting percentage (.158-.109). The Bobcats also improved to 3-3 all-time against ASU.
BOBCATS OPEN SBC PLAY 2-0 FOR 4TH-STRAIGHT YEAR
Texas State has been a member of the Sun Belt Conference for four years. After an unblemished start to league play, the Bobcat volleyball team has now started 2-0 in SBC play all four years. TXST first dispatched of Troy by a 3-0 margin in Troy, Alabama, before heading over to Mobile, Alabama to come from behind and topple South Alabama 3-2.
Shelby Vas Matt paced the Bobcats with 24 kills, while Jaliyah Bodlen added 21 of her own.
Lauren Kirch hit a team-best .302, while putting away 19 kills.
Erin Hoppe dished out 74 assists in the two matches, while
Micah Dinwiddie grinded out 34 digs. She also led TXST with four service aces. Bolden and Kirch combined for 23 blocks in the two victories.

VOLLEYBALL SETS ATTENDANCE RECORD AGAINST BAYLOR
The Texas State volleyball team set a new attendance record of 3,634 in a 3-1 (16-25, 25-19, 22-25, 21-25) loss to Baylor on August 30. The previous attendance mark was set during the 2014 season, also against the Bears.
