LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The Texas State women's basketball team fell on Saturday afternoon to the UALR Trojans by a score of 73-40 at the Jack Stephens Center in Little Rock, Ark. The Bobcats fall to 13-9 overall and 8-5 in Sun Belt Conference play.

The Bobcats got off to a good start against the Trojans, scoring the first two baskets of the game. That start was, however, answered by UALR's Taylor Gault who scored the next five points in the game to take an early 5-4 lead over the Bobcats.

Early in the game, the Bobcats forced several Trojan turnovers that kept Texas State neck and neck with UALR.

Down 15-13, senior guard
Meghan Braeuer hit a three-pointer to give Texas State a 16-15 lead with 9:15 left in the first. That would prove to be the final lead of the game for the Bobcats as UALR finished the first half on a 16-5 run.

That run for the Trojans continued into the second half as UALR outscored the Bobcats, 39-22. Offensively, the Bobcats shot just 6-for-35 in the half and 8-for-14 from the charity stripe.

Erin Peoples finished the day with a team-high seven points while
Kileah Mays ended with nine rebounds. Gault for UALR led all players on the floor with 19 points while Shanity James ended with a floor-high 10 rebounds.

Texas State outscored the Trojans 11 to 10 in second chance points as the Bobcats recorded three more offensive rebounds than UALR (19-16).
