ARLINGTON, Texas – The Texas State men's basketball team wraps up its two-game road trip when it takes on UT Arlington at the College Park Center, Monday afternoon. The meeting will be the 60th all-time between the two schools with Texas State having a 30-29 edge.
The Bobcats are coming off their first overtime loss of the season, 78-73 to Arkansas State Saturday night. Ethan Montalvo paced the team with 18 points on 4-of-9 from three-point range. Montalvo's two three-pointers in overtime tied the game at 72-72 after the Red Wolves went up 72-66.
Texas State, as a team, is averaging 6.9 three-pointers per game in conference play after averaging just over 4.0 threes per game in non conference.
Scouting UT Arlington
The Mavericks enter Monday's game 9-7 overall and 3-3 in conference play. UTA had a bye on Saturday, with its last game coming on Thursday in an 83-62 loss on the road at Georgia State.
UTA has lived by the three-pointer throughout the season, averaging 6.9 made threes per game, second most In the Sun Belt.
Jamel Outler has been the best Maverick from beyond the arc with 33 made three-pointers this season. Overall he is averaging 9.2 points per game, fourth on the team.
