The Series
The Bobcats own the all-time record vs. Prairie View A&M, 6-0, and has yet to even relinquish a set to the Panthers in the series dating back to 1985. Four of the six matches have been at Texas State with one on the road and last season's meeting on neutral ground at North Texas.

Ashlee Hilbun led the squad in kills in the last meeting with 10 on 13 attempts with just one error for  a.692 hitting percentage. As a freshman, Shelby Vas Matt putdown nine kills while Sierra Smith tallied 11 digs and Kelsey Weynand totaled nine in the dominating 3-0 sweep (25-17, 25-9, 25-17) on Sept. 7, 2013.

On the Panthers
Prairie View A&M has picked up two wins on the season with the first in a five-set match against New Orleans. On Friday, the Panthers beat Grambling State, 3-0, for the team's second victory of the season. Prairie View A&M has fallen to Grand Canyon, Texas Southern, Houston Baptist, Sun Belt Conference opponent UALR, TCU and Miami. In eight matches, the Panthers have won just five sets.

On the Bobcats
Texas State went 2-2 over the weekend at the Delta Zeta Classic and stand at 4-4 on the season looking to move above .500 Tuesday night. Libero Sierra Smith played some excellent matches last week, averaging more than five digs per set.

Meanwhile, offensively, Lauren Kirch and Alexandra Simms pace the Bobcats in kills with 92 and 74 respectively. But Kelsey Weynand has come on strong in recent matches, notching double-digit kills in three of the four matches at the Delta Zeta Classic. Both her and Simms notched double-doubles over the weekend to prove that Shelby Vas Matt isn't the only double-double machine on the squad.

In the middle, Amanda Watkins leads Texas State with 20 blocks while Kirch has 18. Brooke Smith has tallied 10 in limited time but showed her efficiency this past weekend, finishing the tournament with a .500 hitting percentage. She is hitting .316 for the season to lead the team.

A Look Ahead
The Bobcats will head to Lubbock over the weekend for the Texas Tech Invitational. Texas State will face Incarnate Word and host Texas Tech on Friday followed by Gardner-Webb at 10 a.m. Saturday. Next week, the Bobcats will begin Sun Belt Conference action against UT Arlington, Arkansas State and UL Monroe.
