Bobcats Retire Jeff Foster's Jersey Saturday

Texas State will look to sweep its current two-game homestand, Saturday at 4:30 p.m., against Louisiana, after Thursday's 65-57 win against ULM. Saturday's contest will also feature the jersey retirement of former men's basketball player Jeff Foster at halftime.

Foster played for the Bobcats from 1995-99. He was a two-time All-Southland Conference honoree, including first team accolades in 1999. Jeff was one of two Bobcats, along with Donte Mathis to be named the team's Most Valuable Player in 1999.

As a senior at Texas State, Foster was third in the country in rebounding with an average of 11.3 per game. His sophomore year, he was a member of the 1997 team which made the NCAA Tournament, one of two appearances in school history.

Among the Texas State all-time leaders, Foster owns the record for most blocked shots in a career with 111, good for an average of 1.0 per game throughout his career, the fourth highest total at Texas State. During his 111 game career, Foster started 89 of them, third most in program history. He is fourth all-time in rebounds with 931 during his career, eighth in free throw attempts (438) as well as ninth in both free throws made (280) and steals (99).
