Men's Hoops Takes on Georgia State Monday

Atlanta, Ga. – The Texas State men's basketball team ends its current two-game road trip on Monday evening as part of a doubleheader when it takes on Georgia State at the Georgia State Sports Arena at 6:30 p.m., central time.

Looking at the Bobcats

Texas State enters Monday's game on a strong defensive streak. The team has not allowed an opponent to crack the 70-point mark in its last seven games, the longest such streak since the 2001-02 season.

Another streak the Bobcats have going for them is their streak of impressive first halves. Texas State has led at halftime in each of its last seven games, outscoring its opposition 224-192 during that span.

Individually, Joel Wright had one of his most complete games of the season on Saturday at UT Arlington. He finished with 11 points, a team-high six rebounds, four assists, three steals and most importantly no turnovers.

Looking at the Panthers

Georgia State comes into Monday's game off its first loss of the conference season. The Panthers are 10-1 this year in Sun Belt play, good for first in the SBC standings.

Georgia State is led by the backcourt tandem of R.J. Hunter and Ryan Harrow. Hunter, the son of head coach Ron Hunter is the team's leading scorer with 20.2 points per game. Harrow is one of the most highly touted Panthers to come through the program, after transferring from Kentucky. Harrow averages 17.8 points per game and has 12 games of 20 or more points this season.
