Men's Basketball Heads to UTA Saturday

Game Notes

San Marcos, Texas –
The Texas State men's basketball team begins a two-game road trip Saturday afternoon when it takes on UT Arlington at 7:30 p.m., at the College Park Center. Following the game against the Mavericks, the Bobcats will make up its game against Georgia State on Monday night after it was postponed due to weather.

Texas State is riding a hot streak on the defensive end as it has held its last six opponents to under 70 points. It is the first time such a streak has occurred for the program since the 2001-02 season.

In their last game, the Bobcats held UL-Lafayette's player of the year contender, Elfrid Payton, to just 10 points, his lowest in any Sun Belt Conference game this season. Wes Davis, who guarded Payton most of the game, also contributed 14 points on the offensive end as well.

In the last meeting between the Bobcats and Mavericks, it was a defensive battle with UTA coming away with the 56-48 victory in San Marcos. Gordon Ball led Texas State with 10 points and seven rebounds.

Saturday's game can be heard on 89.9 FM KTSW and www.txstatebobcats.com.
