SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Texas State men's basketball team will return from an eight-day break, when it hosts former Lone Star Conference opponent, Howard Payne, Sunday afternoon at 4 p.m., at Strahan Coliseum.
The Bobcats had their first loss of the season last Saturday at UTSA, 80-67. D.J. Brown led the Bobcats in scoring with 16 points on 4-of-8 from three-point range. He is 7-of-14 from the season and ranks sixth in the Sun Belt Conference with 2.3 made three-pointers per game.
As a team, Texas State is averaging 62.7 points allowed per game, third least in the conference and is leading the league in free throw percentage at 76.7 percent, good for 20th in the nation.
